For security reasons, certain file extensions are not permitted on our service. If you attempt to send one of them, you will encounter the following error message:
“Oops! Some files contain extensions that are prohibited by our service for security reasons.”
The file extensions prohibited on Smash are: .htm ; .html ; .mkv
By preventing these types of files from being transferred through our service, we protect our users — especially recipients who download them and may otherwise be exposed to suspicious files.
