Want to keep your files safe? On Smash, protecting your transfers is simple — we’ve taken care of everything.

Security is, of course, a top priority for us. We rely on industry-leading engineering practices and security standards to protect access to personal data.

Password protection is one of these safeguards. This feature is available on both the free and paid versions of Smash.

How to password-protect your transfer:

  • On the upload interface, click the gear icon at the bottom left

  • In the "Password" field, enter a secure password (at least 4 characters)

  • Save it so you can share it with your recipients

  • Click "Done", then send your transfer

Note: for security reasons, we do not store transfer passwords. If you forgot it, the only solution is to create a new transfer.
